4-Day Masai Mara Lake Nakuru Budget Safari

Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara National Reserve

You will be picked up early in the morning from City Market (CBD) and depart Nairobi for the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. The drive takes you through the scenic Great Rift Valley, with a stop at a viewpoint to enjoy breathtaking landscapes and photo opportunities.

Arrive in the Maasai Mara in time for lunch, followed by check-in at your selected lodge or tented camp. Later in the afternoon, set out on your first game drive, exploring the vast savannahs in search of the abundant wildlife for which the Mara is renowned.

Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full Day in Maasai Mara

Enjoy a full day of wildlife exploration in Kenya’s premier safari destination. Morning and afternoon game drives take you across open plains and along the Mara and Talek Rivers, home to an incredible concentration of wildlife.

Look out for the Big Five - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino, as well as giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, cheetahs, hyenas, and a wide variety of birdlife. On clear evenings, witness the Mara’s iconic golden sunsets, perfect for photography.

Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park

After an early breakfast, begin your journey to Lake Nakuru. Along the way, you can opt to visit a Maasai village (additional $20 per person) to experience traditional dances and learn about their culture before proceeding to Nakuru arriving late afternoon where you check into your lodge and take rest.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Nairobi

Start your day with an early breakfast, then check out and head straight into Lake Nakuru National Park. This compact park is famed for its rare white rhino population, part of the Big Five, and its stunning pink flamingo flocks that gather along the lake’s shores. After a rewarding game drive, depart for Nairobi, arriving in the mid to late afternoon.
