ITINERARY

This itinerary offers a gradual ascent via the scenic Sirimon Route, making it one of the best options for acclimatization and a successful summit of Point Lenana (4,985m) before returning through the same route to Nairobi.

Day 1: Nairobi – Nanyuki – Sirimon Gate – Old Moses Camp
• Departure: 7:00 AM from Nairobi
• Drive: Approximately 4 hours (200 km) to Nanyuki.
• Stop at the Equator for photos and refreshments.
• Continue to Sirimon Gate (2,650m) where you'll register with Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).
• Meet your mountain crew (guide, cook, and porters).
• Begin the trek through dense montane forest which gradually opens into giant heather and moorland.

Cross the Ontulili River before ascending towards Liki North and continuing into the spectacular Mackinder's Valley, famous for its giant lobelias and giant groundsels.
The dramatic views of Batian, Nelion and Point Lenana become clearer as you approach Shipton's Camp.

Day 3: Shipton's Camp – Point Lenana – Old Moses Camp
Wake up around 2:30 AM for tea and biscuits before beginning the summit attempt.
The trail climbs gradually over rocky terrain to Point Lenana (4,985m).
Reach the summit just before sunrise for breathtaking views over:
• Mount Kilimanjaro
• Indian Ocean (on very clear mornings)
• The surrounding peaks of Batian and Nelion
• Kenya's highlands
Enjoy photography and receive your summit certificate.
Descend back to Shipton's Camp for a full breakfast before continuing downhill to Old Moses Camp.
