6 Days Namibia Dunes, Coast and Adventure Safari

Day 1 – Arrival in Namibia | Journey to the Namib Desert

Upon arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, collect your 4x4 Toyota Fortuner and begin your scenic drive towards the magnificent Namib Desert. Sit back and enjoy Namibia’s breathtaking landscapes as endless plains, rugged mountain ranges, and vast open spaces unfold before you.

En route, stop at the charming desert settlement of Solitaire, renowned for its famous homemade apple pie. Enjoy a refreshing coffee break, stretch your legs, and capture memorable photographs before continuing your journey.

Arrive at Namib Desert Lodge, check in, and enjoy lunch (own account). In the afternoon, relax and soak in the peaceful desert surroundings, admire the spectacular views of the ancient, fossilized dunes, or take a leisurely walk around the lodge while watching for local wildlife such as springbok, ostriches, and oryx. As the day comes to an end, witness one of Namibia’s unforgettable desert sunsets before enjoying a relaxing evening under a sky filled with brilliant stars.

Day 2 – Discover the Namib Desert | Continue to Swakopmund

Enjoy an early breakfast before departing for an unforgettable excursion into the Namib-Naukluft National Park.

Visit the iconic Deadvlei, one of Namibia’s most photographed landscapes, where centuries-old camel thorn trees stand dramatically against a white clay pan surrounded by towering red dunes.

For the adventurous, climb the famous Big Daddy Dune, one of the highest sand dunes in the world. The panoramic views from the summit are simply breathtaking and reward every step of the climb.

Continue to Sesriem Canyon, where centuries of erosion have carved a remarkable natural gorge through the desert landscape. Explore the canyon and learn about its fascinating geological history.

After your desert adventure, continue your scenic journey towards the coastal town of Swakopmund, travelling through the spectacular Namib Desert and crossing the dramatic Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons. Pause at scenic viewpoints along the route to admire the ever-changing landscapes before reaching the cool Atlantic coastline.

Upon arrival, check in at Prost Hotel Swakopmund.

Spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure exploring Swakopmund’s charming streets, boutique shops, cafés, local craft markets, beach promenade, and historic German colonial architecture.

After breakfast, depart for Walvis Bay, Namibia’s principal harbour town.

Following breakfast, travel to Walvis Bay Marina for an unforgettable marine adventure.
